READING NEVER GOES OUT OF FASHION

withloveaniaw:

If you’re a struggling student like me, doing a degree that is considered playing dress up all day long and flicking through glossy pages of Vogue. You know what I’m talking about. Yup, fashion degrees are considered well, you know, shit. Everyone who doesn’t know who Anna Wintour is will probably crinkle their forehead and say things like “What are you gonna do when you leave university?”, “Are there jobs in fashion?”, “Is it really worth getting into so much debt?”, then you probably just shrug your shoulders and hope for the best. This wonderland which seems so fun and is only open to beautifully dressed creatures, is probably one of the most competitive industries. I’m gonna confess right here and right now, I didn’t go to do fashion design, or a degree in art because I’m a coward and to spare my family a heart ache. Pleased to say that fashion marketing is probably everything I would expect from a degree, what a happy turn of events. Don’t turn away from what you really want to do (cause you may not be as lucky as me), make wise decisions on what direction you want to take your passion, but don’t completely turn away from it because some think it’s ‘silly’ (how silly are they going to look when next time they see you will be on Fashion TV in front row of Tom Ford show, glowing, making notes with your fabulous designer pen, hihi).  Although it’s so competitive, I don’t think we have to ‘fight’ for each space, there is always place in the market for new and innovative, it’s just up to us to turn possibilities into reality and create.

Below I have collected few links for you which I hope will be helpful (or may be an absolute waste of time). They are there to encourage you fashion lovers to drop silly gossip magazines and read around the subject on how to get into fashion and survive. READ my lovelies, cause reading never goes out of fashion! Enjoy!
