it’s not even so much that i don’t like picturing them with other people, it’s mostly that i can’t. of course in fandom everything is possible and then it’s a preference. like, i can’t stand some ships but i’m fine with others. but in canon it’s just beyond me how anyone can picture them ending up with anyone but each other. without sherlock holmes there would be no john watson. without john watson, sherlock holmes wouldn’t know how to love. that’s the plot.
