Sherlock would want to be affectionate with John all the time once they are together but he’s going to be so shy and a little insecure about it, like

• whenever they’re having breakfast John is tenderly stroking Sherlock’s hand and their feet are resting close next to each other’s under the table, occasionally brushing, and John is being purposefully gentle and caring and sometimes he offers Sherlock a food from his own to feed him but Sherlock, who’s already as red as lobster, just shakes his head because he’s afraid that if he opened his mouth he’d either squeak or whimper out loud
• every morning they wake up tangled in each other’s arms, John is brushing his legs and feet against Sherlock’s under the blankets and while they’re not always kissing their noses are rubbing together and John is keep grinning and cooing sweet, loving words against Sherlock’s parted lips but Sherlock soon starts blushing and happily giggling so hard that he has to bury his face against the crook of John’s neck in order to hide his pink cheeks
• John always cuddles up to Sherlock after they had sex and Sherlock at first pouts a little because he wanted to be the one to lay his head over John’s chest but as soon as John stars rubbing small circles over his skin he pipes down and pecks John’s ruffled hairs instead
• Sherlock would never be the one to initiate a kiss, at least not early in their relationship because he never knows whether it is the right time for a kiss or not, but then John assures him that since they’re now together they can kiss whenever Sherlock desires and it’s only going to make him happy; Sherlock takes it of course too seriously and so they end up kissing all the time, even if they’re just passing one by another
• John wouldn’t care about what people say about them once they are an official couple and so he always reaches for Sherlock’s hand when they’re walking down the street, he doesn’t mind kissing him in front of the entire Scotland Yard or put his hand over the small of Sherlock’s back when they’re standing next to each other in public and while Sherlock’s cheeks are always flushed red he also has that smug face like ‘yes, this is my super cute and badass boyfriend John Watson, he loves me, my boyfriend, look at us, we’re holding hands, we’re boyfriends’
• whenever John falls asleep in his chair, Sherlock just lovingly glares and smiles at the sight at first, wondering how he got so lucky but then he gets up and carefully so to not wake John up, he covers him with blanket and plants a small, light kiss over the doctor’s forehead
• first time John calls Sherlock ‘love’, Sherlock gets all baffled and his mouth falls open but once John apologises, thinking that it’s not something Sherlock appreciates, Sherlock just quickly shakes his head being like ‘no, it’s fine’ and then he hugs John so tightly that John can barely draw a breath
