facebook started this thing where people whose setting say they live in Paris can check in and it sends a notification to all of their friends saying they are, indeed, safe right now

you can check it even if your location setting are not Paris (if you’re here for a visit or on holiday or something) so please warn people you’re safe, and check if your friends are safe. especially since the phone lines are saturated, so phone calls and texts are not the best solution right now
